Natalie Pikul

Long bio

Natalie Pikul was born in 1987 in Solovyovo, a village in the Altai Mountains in eastern Kazakhstan. At 16, she emigrated with her family to Germany. The school authority in Dortmund placed her, a straight-A student who did not yet speak German, in a Hauptschule, the lowest-tier secondary school. She nonetheless completed her Fachabitur (a vocational higher-education entrance qualification) and studied industrial engineering at Westfälische Hochschule in Gelsenkirchen. She became a mother in the middle of her studies.

She went on to work in property management, as a construction site manager in residential renovation, and in real estate appraisal. In 2017, her second child was born. In 2018, she discovered the work of Australian Resin Artists and began working with epoxy resin herself. That same year, she began immersing herself in what was, at the time, still a comparatively young Resin Art scene in Germany.

Since 2018, she has also worked in marketing, primarily in social media, and is a certified trainer (AEVO, Dortmund Chamber of Industry and Commerce). In 2024, she completed a social media marketing qualification with the Dortmund Chamber of Industry and Commerce (IHK). Her book Safe Resin Art was published in 2025, followed by the English and Spanish editions in 2026. Natalie Pikul lives in Dortmund.
