Five O’Clock Gold

Chasing five o’clock gold (ooh) Chasing five o’clock gold (ooh) Your hand in my pocket, the air getting cold We’re chasing five o’clock gold Look, there it is Oh, the sun’s going down slow Oh, the sun’s going down slow One more street, one more song Before the light lets go Crunch under boots and the sun in our eyes Both of our shadows are ten times our size You took a picture while I looked away That blurry one’s my favorite to this day Twenty minutes, maybe less The sky puts on its orange dress Chasing five o’clock gold (ooh) Chasing five o’clock gold (ooh) Your hand in my pocket, the air getting cold We’re chasing five o’clock gold Cider in paper cups, steam in the air Wind in the trees and a leaf in your hair The café on the corner is switching on its lights But we’re not ready for the night If I could keep one hour in a jar I’d keep this one, just where we are Chasing five o’clock gold (ooh) Chasing five o’clock gold (ooh) Years from now, when the evenings get cold I’ll still have five o’clock gold Oh, the sun’s going down slow Before the light lets go (Five o’clock gold)
