Dear October

Dear October, it's me again A little older than way back then If you still see the girl I used to be Tell her it all worked out for me P.S. I pressed a leaf for you Write it down, write it down Every leaf that hits the ground Write it down, write it down (Dear October) Last year I cried on the number nine bus Nobody noticed, I didn't make a fuss Now I get off one stop too soon Just to walk home through the afternoon Funny how the same old street Feels so different under my feet Dear October, it's me again A little older than way back then If you still see the girl I used to be Tell her it all worked out for me Nobody writes letters, I know that it's strange But you were the one who taught me to change Every year you let go of it all And you're the prettiest when you fall See you next year Same time, same leaves Keep a little light on for me Dear October, it's me again A little older than way back then If you still see the girl I used to be Tell her it all worked out for me Write it down, write it down Every leaf that hits the ground Love, me
